As innkeepers ourselves, we have learned about this business through long personal experience. Our story is not unlike that of many other husbands and wives who work together as innkeepers -- perhaps it's similar to yours. In a nutshell, one day we decided it was time to give up our corporate jobs, move to a beautiful small town, and become innkeepers.

We have gained all our knowledge and expertise the real way -- through fifteen years spent transforming a six-room B&B in Camden, Maine, into a very successful 10-room full-service inn with more than 50 percent repeat business. Over the years, we've looked after thousands of wonderful guests -- and our share of difficult ones, too -- cooked a zillion breakfasts, had sleepless nights worrying about the bottom line, scrubbed floors and made countless beds, devised effective ways to set our inn apart from the rest, and known the special satisfaction that comes from succeeding at our innkeeping dream.

Now we look forward to traveling to inns around the country to share our knowledge and abilities with its owners.

In past years, we have served as inn managers for absentee owners, helped start up a dude ranch, developed marketing plans for several B&Bs, implemented new systems for others, and even designed efficient kitchen layouts for others.
